This was my art skill inventory self portrait. I honestly don't think it's that bad if you take into account the fact that I had 40 minutes to free hand my face. I have definitely done better self portraits in the past so I know this could have been better if I did it properly. My self portrait image is featured down below and tbh it could have been wayyyy better and it definitely got worse after I inked it. But in terms of composition I think I have definitely improved and I think of it more often when creating art than I did a year ago. I am more aware of trying to make a good composition and thinking of poses and positions that would look interesting. I think I did a good job on the proportion of my self portrait but I don't think I have anything to compare it to since I have not done anything similar to this. If I had to do this project over again I think I would choose a different pose and have some props so I can express myself more clearly and I think the portrait did the job of self expression but I would want to try something a little more out of the box. I know for a fact that I greatly improved my mark making with the ink wash. In the master drawing I had no idea how to use this medium and was completely lost on techniques and means of using it. I definitely got a handle on it and I don't think that I hit the artists mark spot on but I think I used the ink much more efficiently in the self portrait.
