Experience Post Q4

I went to the lecture by Ms. Nicewinter on Incan art. I feel like it was actually a very comprehensive guide to not only Incan art but their history and culture as well. I feel like the background provided ( like the fact that their empire only lasted around 100 years, they were actually just many different indigenous groups all "united" under one rule, and that every new ruler had to earn their keep by expanding the territory, and the king was actually what was named Inca) a lot of insight into the type of art they had and you got more of a sense of the people. The fact that they were able to have so many advanced theories and ideas of the universe and creation at that time amazed me; most people nowadays can't even comprehend the magnitude of the universe. And that just makes their garments and tunics even more fascinating and it forces you to think deeper about everyday objects and creation. The process behind making the clothes is extremely labor intensive too and learning about that process and watching the video on it gave me a greater appreciation and understanding for their society.
