Awareness Post on Camilla d'Errico

Link to her Website: https://camilladerrico.com/

I first learned about Camilla d'Errico when I got a book about her and her art a couple of years ago because I found it to be really interesting and was quite drawn to it. She is a Pop Surrealist painter that has made a big impact in the art community through her manga-influenced style. She graduated from Capilano College, Vancouver for Illustration and Design. In 2001 she began making comic books and has working with The Walt Disney Company, Ride Snowboards, Hasbro Toys and other well-known companies. D'Errico began focusing more on oil painting in 2006 and her style is extremely influenced by Manga and Japanese pop culture. She has a newsletter and hosts online classes.

I really love her whimsical combination of animals, colors and inanimate objects. The way she utilizes all of these elements in a cohesive way is extremely compelling to me. I feel like she is able to create interesting compositions, color schemes and variety in her work, just using the same formula for her paintings.

2006

The style is there but the quality is not.

2008

Can see the development of the animal on head theme.

2010

Very nice illustrations- whimsical and intriguing.

2012

2014

The first painting is so lovely and surreal- I love the concept.

2016

I LOVE THE FISH

2018

I absolutely love the first piece with the composition of the dragon on her head.

2020

The animals on head thing is really doing something for me. I do not like the monochrome though.
